Health Solutions at Your Fingertips

Pharmacy retailers face numerous challenges that make it difficult to attract and retain the best pharmacists. From workflow automation to content management, they can leverage technology that centralizes workflows and processes, enabling better information access, and supports staff and consumer interactions.

Consumers want high-quality, personalized services that meet their health care needs. To deliver those services, pharmacies must be able to provide accurate drug information and connect with third-party agencies like prescribers, specialty pharmacies and insurers.

Patient Information Management

Patient management systems help pharmacies streamline their processes, keep up with HIPAA compliance and make sure that patients have a great experience at their healthcare provider. With the right software, you can increase efficiency for both your staff and your patients, save time and money, and prevent costly errors that could lead to patient dissatisfaction.

A patient information management system can be paper-based, a hybrid of paper and digital (hybrid), or a fully electronic health record (EHR). The main function of the system is to collect, process and store medical data in order to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce costs. A patient information management system can also improve workflow and communication among medical professionals and the public.

Choosing the best software for your pharmacy depends on what you want it to do. For example, a patient management system that includes billing features is ideal for pharmacies that deal with insurance claims and reimbursement. It can help alleviate the burden of invoicing by automating the process and reducing human error. It can also help reduce revenue cycle costs by tracking payments made and received. rx pharmacy

The software can also be used to record and optimize patient contact, which is essential for a high quality of care. It can generate electronic intake forms for new patients to fill out ahead of their first clinic or hospital appointment, speeding up the process and avoiding delays in getting them started. It can also store records of previous encounters with the pharmacy and validate insurance eligibility before a patient checks in.

It's important to find a system that is user-friendly, so your staff can use it with ease. It should also have integration capabilities that optimize data sharing and minimize duplicate entries. You may also want to look for a system that is customizable and can grow with your organization. ScriptMed Specialty

Streamline specialty pharmacy workflows to help patients start treatment sooner and achieve better health outcomes. These solutions provide a full suite of integrated, data analytics tools that automate many labor-intensive processes, support escalations and interventions, and streamline the communication and information exchanges among multiple stakeholders. By enabling pharmacies to capture and report critical clinical, operational, and financial data, they can make the best decisions possible for their patients and partners.

ScriptMed Specialty is the number one end-to-end commercial enterprise solution for specialty pharmacies, serving seven of the top 10 U.S. pharmacy companies. It is a fully configurable solution built to meet the business needs of any specialty pharmacy model, from retail to home infusion, complex drug compounding and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).

In addition to the core business management functionality, ScriptMed Specialty can be configured to support specialty pharmaceutical manufacturer programs and related services including reimbursement support and clinical trial recruitment, in-home therapy support, and site-of-care management. Combined with the industry’s most powerful EHR connectivity, real-time healthcare ecosystem connectivity, advanced data visualization capabilities, and extensive, longitudinal patient-specific datasets, ScriptMed Specialty provides a unique, differentiated value proposition for the marketplace.

Manufacturers are increasingly requesting supplemental outcome and care management data to justify the high cost of specialty products. This supplemental, post-launch data can be used to drive greater outcomes-driven value and to negotiate rebates with payers. It can also improve adherence and quality of life.

Specialty pharmacies are challenged to process, communicate, and store significant amounts of patient documentation, including prior authorizations, adherence counseling, accreditation requirements, and more. Streamlined workflows and automated processing enable them to complete these tasks more quickly and efficiently, increasing productivity and minimizing the impact on revenue cycle operations.

By enabling a single, paperless application to manage referral receipt and dispense, clinical, financial, pharmacy operations, and fulfillment functions, ScriptMed Specialty delivers unmatched business efficiency. Its comprehensive functionality allows manufacturers to eliminate the need for a data aggregator and the associated monthly fees, while providing a direct, more transparent relationship with their specialty pharmacies to ensure they receive the correct, timely, and valuable information needed to optimize performance.

ScriptMed Infusion

The specialty pharmacy industry is highly complex, with many workflows and specialized requirements for the preparation of medication, patient assessments, scheduling, and nurse-to-patient assignments. This is especially true for home infusion and IV therapy pharmacies.

The right workflow management software solution can automate and streamline processes, from intake to dispense and beyond. This can help you improve patient outcomes, increase efficiency and meet adherence goals. It can also reduce your costs and risk. The Inovalon ONE Platform provides the connectivity, supplemental clinical data and process-specific analytics needed to simplify and accelerate these workflows.

For instance, integrating with Inovalon DataStream enables rapid turnaround time for critical information like disease codes and medical histories, allowing you to complete the intake process more quickly and get patients started on their therapy faster. This helps you manage costs and improve patient experience, while minimizing the impact to providers.

ScriptMed Infusion is a full, end-to-end specialty and infusion pharmacy management solution designed to automate manual tasks and configure workflows to operate at peak efficiency. It features capabilities built specifically for specialty and infusion pharmacy applications like nurse to patient assignments, chair/geographical location scheduling, medication & equipment inventory management, and more.

It integrates with your existing systems and can support EHR integration with robust APIs. When combined with DataStream, it can also access real-time patient data to supplement your pharmacy operations workflows with rich EHR data including diagnoses, allergies, other medications, weight, labs and more.

In addition, it has a persona-based workflow system that displays only the specific tasks required by each user, rather than the entire pharmacy workflow, and provides the data and instructions they need to make decisions. This can reduce time to dispense, improve patient outcomes, and help you avoid costly reprocessing errors.

Streamline your operations and improve clinical performance with the modern, end-to-end infusion pharmacy solution trusted to serve 7 of the top 10 specialty pharmacies nationally1. The Inovalon ONE Platform delivers the massive datasets, real-time data access, and advanced automation needed for a best-in-class specialty and infusion pharmacy solution. Withings RPM

Withings made its name launching the world's first Wi-Fi scale back in 2009 and has been a pioneer in connected health since then. However, the company recently recognized that it had a unique opportunity to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs through remote patient monitoring (RPM).

While RPM is proven to be effective, launching and maintaining such programs requires a significant investment from all stakeholders. For the program to work, it is imperative that patients use the devices and engage with them regularly. However, for many patients, the complexities of these platforms can be overwhelming. Additionally, physicians have already full plates and may struggle with the time commitment needed to monitor their patients’ data.

To address these issues, Withings launched its dedicated division for healthcare providers, Withings Health Solutions. The system aims to simplify the process of implementing and supporting an RPM program for both physicians and patients alike.

As part of this effort, the division has partnered with athenahealth to enable athenahealth users to place standard orders for Withings’ RPM services directly within their EHR. Once those orders are fulfilled, the device will be shipped directly to the patient's home. The devices, which include the Withings Body Pro scale and Withings BPM Connect Pro blood pressure monitor, connect to cellular networks for a seamless patient experience and automatically transmit data into their athenahealth patient charts. In addition, Withings Health Solutions also provides providers with intuitive dashboards to manage all aspects of their RPM program – including onboarding, setting up reviews and alerts, and, in the future, billing functions.

UC Davis Health and Novant Health have used the platform to launch pilot RPM programs that focus on bariatric patients, with plans to expand these programs to other populations. These initiatives have helped to reduce hospital admissions and readmissions and improve patient outcomes, demonstrating the value of this new technology. Ultimately, the goal is to provide a solution that addresses the needs of all stakeholders - providing a simple user experience for patients, easy integration for physicians and robust reporting capabilities for payers.
