Considered by some to be an esoteric bible that has gone mainstream, A Course in Miracles is widely considered the Bible of the "spiritual but not religious" movement. Its heady mix of reinterpreted Christian language and modern psychological thought, combined with Eastern metaphysics, has made it uniquely influential.
Its popularity has surged since the publication of three subsequent titles by Gary Renard, who is a prominent ACIM teacher. The standard edition has sold millions of copies worldwide.
Certification Requirements
If you are an aspiring ACIM practitioner, there are several certification requirements that you should meet. You should also consider enrolling in an ACIM training program to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for becoming a successful ACIM practitioner. Choosing an ACIM course that is offered at a local school or university will help you achieve your goals more quickly.
The proposed test procedure for low-capacity ACIMs would require that the ice storage bin be one-half full of ice at the time of testing. DOE also proposes to exclude from the test procedure provisions of ASHRAE Standard 29-2015 that refer to measuring and maintaining inlet water conditions, because these standards do not apply to portable ACIMs, which do not have fixed water connections.
Based on investigative testing, DOE has observed that the absolute stability criteria of 2.2 lb/24 h for batch low-capacity ACIMs might not represent stable operation for these devices. Specifically, for these low-capacity ACIMs, harvest rates have been observed to range from 7 lb/24 h to 1.1 lb/24 h.
For these reasons, the proposed test procedure for low-capacity ice makers would not include a stability requirement based on collection weight and instead establishes a maximum harvest rate variance of 4 percent. This limit is consistent with the limits for other refrigeration equipment and DOE does not expect to impose significant additional costs on manufacturers through the proposal.
Because of the lack of an existing test procedure, DOE is aware that some low-capacity ACIM manufacturers are making representations about energy consumption without referring to any particular test procedures in their marketing materials. In response to the March 19, 2019, RFI, DOE is seeking comments on: new versions of industry standards that the current DOE test procedure incorporates by reference; additional specifications and amendments that may improve the accuracy of the test procedure or reduce the testing burden on manufacturers; and methods to reduce the test procedure's regulatory burden while ensuring its integrity and effectiveness.
Studying ACIM
First published in 1976, A Course in Miracles is a self-study system of "spiritual psychology" that offers practical spiritual teachings and profound psychological insights. It's also a powerful tool for shifting the thoughts in your head from fear, attack, ego, and competition to kindness, compassion, and love. It can be studied alone or in a group.
Its mix of reinterpreted Christian language, modern psychological thought, and Eastern metaphysics gives acim a very different feel from any other spiritual teaching. It directly challenges major elements of contemporary Christianity, such as the doctrines of sin and crucifixion, while promoting an enlightened consciousness that's similar to that of Hindu and Buddhist notions of samsara and maya (the world we see as being a massive illusion).
A Course in Miracles has become the Bible of the growing number of people who consider themselves "spiritual but not religious." This movement is changing social and religious perspective around the world, and ACIM's influence is felt by millions. However, ACIM is a difficult book to understand and adhere to as a discipline, and many students eventually join study groups or one of the handful of accredited churches that have emerged in support of ACIM's teachings.
Studying ACIM will challenge the way you think about God, yourself, others, and the world. It's not an easy book to read, and at first you may only understand a sentence on each page. But if you stick with it, the concepts in ACIM will grow on you until they're part of the fabric of your life. You'll find that you can't unlearn them, even if you want to. You'll be changed from the inside out.
ACIM Study Groups
A Course in Miracles is a self-study spiritual thought system that is designed to help its students uncover their natural state of forgiveness. Those who study ACIM can connect with others through online and in-person groups to discuss the lessons and practice together. These groups are open to beginners and experienced students alike. These groups often focus on healing and discussion of the principles behind ACIM.
One of the most popular ACIM websites is Miracle Study Groups, an international listing of local study groups. It features a search function that can find in-person groups within a certain distance of your location, or you can use a map to browse online groups. It also includes a list of other resources for ACIM study.
Another site that offers an extensive list of ACIM study groups is Awakening Through Forgiveness, a directory of spiritual communities based on the teachings of A Course in Miracles. This site also offers a variety of other resources, including an online bookstore and articles from the 'Miracle Link' newsletter.
This site is dedicated to the memory of Joseph Jesseph, a long-time student of A Course in Miracles. It contains many of his writings, including some of his Workbook lesson commentaries. The site also includes a number of audio recordings of his meditations.

ACIM Practitioner Training
An ACIM Practitioner is a spiritual counselor who works with clients to help them reclaim their natural state of peace. Often, this means helping them release fears and limiting beliefs. In addition, practitioners may assist clients with finding ways to heal emotional and physical problems. This can include teaching them how to use forgiveness as a way to release the past and move forward in life.
The practice of ACIM is based on universal spiritual teachings, including those found in the Course. Many choose to study ACIM as a supportive practice of the therapeutic work they do with their clients or patients. Additionally, the principles taught in ACIM are an excellent framework for supporting others as they heal their own problems and move towards a more peaceful and loving existence.
Those who want to become an ACIM practitioner will need to complete the Living in Purpose Program and take the Ministerial Ordination class. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to offer spiritual counseling and facilitate Pathway to Heaven Groups. You will also be able to officiate at weddings, baptisms, funerals and burials as an ordained ACIM minister.
A Course in Miracles is a three-volume set of channeled literature. It consists of the Text, the Workbook for Students and the Manual for Teachers. The Course’s goal is to teach us to escape from the fear-based world of the ego and step into the Love-based world of God. The Text is a theoretical guide to salvation, while the Workbook is a practical daily application of the lessons in the Text.
The Workbook is divided into 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. The lessons are intended to be done in order, but they can also be studied at your own pace. The audio recordings of David Hoffmeister reading the daily lessons and providing profound commentary are available on YouTube. These are a wonderful way to hear the clarity and presence of the Master Teacher and to experience his deep understanding of ACIM. This is a powerful way to begin your journey into A Course in Miracles.
