Chapter 6 is a major step in the thought reversal that accompanies the Course. This is because it carries us from the world of illusion back to the healed cosmos in the mind.
The Urtext has been rearranged, with half as much material removed (the equivalent of the first five chapters) as the original HLC.
Be vigilant only for God and His Kingdom.
The apostle Peter warns Christians that they should be vigilant and be ready for the Lord's return because the end of all things has drawn near. They must be watchful and prepared, for Jesus said that he would come to execute judgment on Satan's world.
Vigilance is a virtue of the spirit that should be developed in every person, according to God's will and for his glory. It consists of inner lucidity, intelligence, awareness of the world and involvment in it, freedom from distractions and dissipation, and responsibility.
Moreover, it is the quality of being able to perceive and know with certainty that which is true. Therefore, it is necessary to be vigilant in preserving the reality of the Kingdom and in teaching its oneness.
This vigilance is not the same as the vigilance that is practiced against illusions, since it involves the perception of oneness with the truth, and this can be achieved only by being in the right state, the unified state.
A person who is not in the right state will make exceptions and be unable to remain consistent. This is the reason why vigilance is the most important characteristic of the Christian life.
It is also the reason why the apostle Paul warns his readers to be alert. Be sober-minded, be on the watch; because your adversary the devil prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
During a time of great apostasy, Christians are expected to be more watchful than ever before. They are expected to resist the collapse of moral standards and the weakening of spiritual standards. This is because those who stand up to the evil forces in power will be rewarded with blessings and protection from God. In addition, they will be witnesses to a new world of God's making that is coming.
Let thine eye be single.
When you have one eye, you can see clearly and completely in one direction.
This is a metaphor for the ability to focus on God and His Kingdom.
Jesus teaches here that if your eye is single, then your whole body will be full of light because it will have one purpose and intent.
The term haplous (single, simple) is used to describe people who have the ability to see what is right in front of them and do what they need to do to help others.
As we can see, this is a very important aspect of spiritual prosperity because it helps to distinguish what is right and what is wrong. It allows us to understand what is good for others and what is bad, which is important in our relationship with God.
It is also a very important way to protect ourselves from harm because it allows us to be vigilant only for the things that matter most to our Lord and Savior.
Keeping your eye single to the glory of God requires total obedience and commitment.
This can be very hard to do, but it is possible for us to learn and practice this if we will. We can do it by looking at the example of others and by learning how to recognize the warning signs when we are being affected by something that is not in line with what is truly pleasing to God.
There is a story in the Bible of how a magician tried to hinder Paul from getting the Gospel to the governor of Cyprus. He was severely punished and blindness came upon him. This happened because he had a stronghold of darkness in his heart.
Let thine ear be open.
It’s easy to take our ears for granted, but they do an impressive job of detecting sound waves and helping to balance our bodies. The ear is made up of 3 main parts: the pinna (outer ear), the middle ear and the tympanic membrane or ear drum. You’ll also find a variety of smaller components that go into making a good ole boy ear. For example, the tympanic membrane is responsible for hearing the oh-so-important sounds of speech. Tympanic membrane damage from trauma, infections or long-term use of steroid nasal sprays can result in ringing in the ear, or tinnitus as it’s more commonly known.
Let thine heart be humble.
Humility is the mother of all virtue and a necessary foundation for holy living. Choosing humility is not easy, but the rewards are great when you do it.
The Lord has made it clear that he loves humble people and wants them to be his friends and helpers in the Kingdom of God. He says: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.”
In order to become more humble in your relationships with others, you must learn to see them as they really are and not as you would like them to be. Humble people are open to the truth of others and do not let their own ego get in the way of making other people feel loved, appreciated and valued. un curso de milagros videos
When another person asks you to counsel them on a difficult matter, it can feel very affirming for a humble person. However, they should only see this request as a sacred burden insofar as they have the responsibility to enter into the other person’s life and struggle to help them sort things out.
A humble person will always seek to do the will of the Lord, no matter how it may seem to them. They will never allow pride to sully their relationship with God and their brothers and sisters in Christ. The Holy Spirit will guide them and give them the wisdom they need to help each other grow in grace, and to live the life God has planned for them.
Let thine mind be single.
It can be very easy to let our own deep insecurities and fears about being single come into play. Combine them with the negative thoughts and expectations others may have about your situation, and you can spiral into a big downer of a mindset. This is why it’s important to cleanse your mind and spirit of those who discourage you or hurt you because of your singleness. One way to do this is to write down the things people have said about you that were a source of discomfort or negativity. Then, think deeply about those statements and ask yourself why they bothered you so much.
Being single can be a very positive experience in your life if you take the time to focus on it and feed yourself the truths about it. It’s also a good idea to limit your social media time, especially when it comes to negative commentary about singleness.
