In 1976, a mysterious "Inner Voice" spoke to Helen Schucman, dictating the system of belief that became A Course in Miracles. The 1,333-page book has sold millions of copies worldwide and continues to influence countless people.
Jon Mundy, who knew ACIM's founders and the text from the beginning, uses passages from ACIM to illuminate its teachings on subjects ranging from self-love and forgiveness to health and money. He also clarifies ACIM's terminology and concepts such as true perception, the ego thought system, and forgiveness.
The Text
In 1976, a mysterious "Inner Voice" called to Helen Schucman, dictating a course of belief that would become A Course in Miracles (ACIM). This spiritual classic has sold over two million copies and transformed the lives of countless people worldwide. But its lessons are profound, and those who study ACIM can struggle for years to progress through its resonant but often difficult-to-comprehend truths.
Jon Mundy, who knew ACIM's founders and studied the text from its inception, is the ideal guide to its central tenets. Using passages from acim, he illuminates teachings on subjects including the self, forgiveness, desire, health, and the afterlife with his lively storytelling and deep knowledge.
This Audiobook is a Listener Clarity version and replaces all pronouns with proper names, making it easier to follow along in the text while listening. This version is also read by Andrew Allansmith a professional voice actor and long time ACIM student and teacher.
The Workbook
As the name implies, this book is practical in nature. It offers 365 lessons, one for each day of the year. The ideas it presents may seem difficult to accept, and even startling at times. But the goal is to experience them in your daily life, and to practice them until they become natural.
This is a new recording of ACIM by Spiritual Ear Audio, which uses the Listener Clarity version of the ACIM text. This means that many of the pronouns such as it, its and he are replaced by their proper names to make it easier to follow while listening.
This audio version of the Workbook parallels the suggested reading schedule that is provided in the Course's Manual for Teachers, so that it is possible to read both the Text and the Workbook at the same time, if you wish.
The Manual for Teachers
The manual for teachers provides additional guidance to help students of A Course in Miracles. It is written in question and answer form, with answers to many of the questions that a student might have while reading the Course. It also includes clarification of some terms that appear in the text and describes a theoretical framework for understanding the Course's teachings.
Jon Mundy, an ACIM teacher who knew the Course's founders, reads the questions and answers from the manual in a clear, concise manner. He covers a variety of topics that are frequently asked about the Course, including the nature of the Inner Teacher, forgiveness and healing, and time and eternity. He also discusses the importance of practicing the lessons in the Workbook to experience inner peace.
A special section of the manual consists of a set of slides that can be used by lecturers to apply these sessions to their own training courses on transdisciplinary research and teaching. This section also includes a session that aims to trigger reflections about knowledge itself, and how higher education institutions have often understood what constitutes legitimate knowledge. This is an important topic that is not covered by other sessions in the manual.
Supplements
The Supplements ("Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process and Practice" and "The Song of Prayer") were scribed by Helen Schucman in the same manner as ACIM, and serve to further explain and extend its principles. They are offered as a means of allowing the mind to be healed from the ego's wrong-minded view of God and the world. This 2010 recording by Spiritual Ear Audio is narrated with careful and lively energy by professional reader Andrew Allansmith, a long-time ACIM student and teacher.
