What Everyone Must Know About WHO IS JESUS

If you're a Christian, it's important to know who Jesus is. He's the only way to have a personal relationship with God.

That's why He came to earth to save us from our sins. He also rose again to demonstrate that He is the Son of God, the only one who can bring you to a personal relationship with the God of the universe.

1. He is the Son of God

What Everyone Must Know About who is jesus?

The Bible says that Jesus is the Son of God (John 10:30-33). He is at the same time 100% divine and 100% human.

He was born of a virgin and experienced everything a human would experience, including emotions, sickness and temptations. He grew up in a normal Israelite family.

He performed many miracles throughout his life on earth, healing the sick (Matt. 8:16), controlling the weather (Mark 4:39), multiplying food, and providing money when needed.

2. He is the Son of David

Jesus was born into a line of David, a line of kings and leaders. He was the Messiah, the promised king to restore Israel and bring God's kingdom to all nations.

The promise to David that his descendants would rule was a huge deal in Israel because it was the only way that they could be assured of God's protection. But, as the kings came and went in Israel, many of them did not do a very good job.

But the gospels make it clear that Jesus fulfilled this prophecy! In fact, Matthew opens his book with the announcement that Jesus is the Son of David and that he is the messiah.

3. He is the Son of Abraham

The genealogy of Jesus, as we’ve already seen, begins with Abraham. It was in Abraham that God made the promise of a new chosen people who would be a blessing to all nations (Genesis 12:3).

The promise was that these people would be the fulfillment of a whole host of Old Testament prophecies and promises about the Messiah.

In fact, Matthew is very explicit in identifying this new nation with the promised line of David. This is because the Bible places great emphasis on these promises and their fulfillment in Jesus, the Son of David.

4. He is the Son of Mary

One of the greatest mysteries in all of history is that Jesus is God and a human being at the same time. This is called the Incarnation, and it happened at just the right moment in history.

He is not only the Son of God, but he is also the Son of Mary.

The Incarnation was a supernatural act of the Holy Spirit, replacing the seed of a man with that of a woman. This created a unique relationship between Jesus and his mother, and it is a profoundly powerful mystery for us to contemplate.

The early Christians believed that Jesus was not the biological son of a human father, and that this fact was important for their understanding of Jesus. This is why Mark uses the phrase “son of [a woman]” rather than the more common “son of Joseph.”

5. He is the Son of Joseph

When you think of Jesus, you may picture him as a good teacher who is a source of good moral ideas. But there are others who see him as a legend, a liar, or even a lunatic.

He is a man who healed sick people, argued with religious leaders, and taught publicly. His followers believed he was God, and he came to earth to save humanity from sin.

He was born in Bethlehem, Judea, and grew up in Nazareth, Galilee. He died in Jerusalem, and his body was buried in a tomb by a rich man from Arimathea.

6. He is the Son of Zechariah

While serving as a priest in the temple, Zechariah was visited by an angel of God who told him that his wife would become pregnant and give birth to a son. (Luke 1:7-9) He was surprised at the news, but believed that the baby would be the forerunner of Christ.

However, the angel warned him that he would be rendered mute until the child was born and unable to speak. He also said that the baby would be a prophet who would prepare people for Jesus’s coming.

There are several prominent men named Zechariah, including a priest and two prophets. One was a Jewish prophet of the Bible who was murdered by disobedient Jews in the Jerusalem temple. The other was a king of Israel, the last in the line of Jehu’s doomed dynasty.

7. He is the Son of Simeon

One of the most prominent men in the Bible is Simeon, who was a righteous man (Luke 2:25). He lived during the time that Jesus was born.

Throughout generations, the people of Israel had hope that God would one day send His Messiah. They believed that He would save them from their enemies, as He had done for the Israelites in Egypt (Luke 23:50-51; Exodus 3--14).

Because of this, Simeon had a special relationship with God. When the Holy Spirit came upon him, he recognized Jesus as the Lord’s Messiah. He took baby Jesus into his arms and blessed him. He then said to the Lord, “Now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word.”

8. He is the Son of Jeremiah

Jeremiah was a prophet who had a very special relationship with God. He was set apart for this ministry before he was even born, and he had to endure a lot of pain and hardship before God used him to bring His message to the people.

He came from a family of priests and lived in a small village called Anathoth (Jeremiah 1:1). Because he was from this family, it made sense that he would be trained in the holy service of the priesthood.

He grew up to be a man of courage who was determined to speak the truth to God's people even though they refused to listen. His words reflected a great deal of emotional depth as he grieved over the sins of the nation and its leaders.

9. He is the Son of Joanna

Joanna, the wife of Herod's steward, Cuza (see Luke 24:1), was a wealthy and influential Jewish woman in 1st century Galilee. She was also a strong believer in Jesus.

She knew Jesus well, and was committed to his mission. She dedicated her time, resources, and wealth to support him in his ministry.

After being healed by Jesus, she decided to leave her wealth and social status behind to follow him. She was one of the rare women disciples in the New Testament.

10. He is the Son of Mary

He is the Son of Mary (Theotokos), who gave birth to God, and the only way by which a person can have a personal relationship with the One True and Living God.

The Gospel of Mark reports the unusual statement from a villager to Jesus, “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary? Is not his mother called Mary?”

This passage is a reference to the virginal conception of Jesus. It was a code phrase that early Christians understood to mean that Mary was the only human parent of Jesus.

Mary was a shy, chaste woman who never tried to explain the miracles she performed. Ultimately, she followed the instructions of God and returned to her family. Despite her fears, she was able to see that her son was the promised Messiah. It was a beautiful and unforgettable moment in history!
